Speaking at the 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (FWEAN) that began in Bharatpur of Chitwan on Sunday, Shanti Chadda, founding president of FWEAN, said it was high time women involved themselves in entrepreneurial development.
“It was difficult to bring even 20 women under one roof when FWEAN was established. But I am glad that things have changed for good,” she added.
Similarly, Rita Bhandari, president of FWEAN, said that the organization has been playing crucial role in empowerment of Nepali women and making them economically independent. “FWEAN has been working on core issues related to women like empowerment, women entrepreneurship and women leadership,” Bhandari said, adding, “This AGM will focus on issues like this.”
On the first day of the three-day AGM, different skill-oriented trainings were provided to women entrepreneurs of nearly 25 districts.
At the program, around 100 women entrepreneurs discussed issues like lack of market for their products, problems in finding investment, and weak marketing and publicity, among others.
