KATHMANDU, May 22: President of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (FWEAN) Shova Gyawali has announced that the FWEAN is advancing its mission to unite women entrepreneurs across the country under a single umbrella organization.
Addressing the event organized to inaugurate the FWEAN's 74th district branch in Manang on Wednesday, President Gyawali said they are making efforts to unite all women entrepreneurs across the country and empower them for social change.
“Our goal is to bring together all women entrepreneurs in Nepal under one unified network and to advocate for their interests with relevant authorities,” said President Gyawali. “We are actively conducting capacity-building programs and working on the social and economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs, with a strong focus on promoting sustainable entrepreneurship.”

She noted that the FWEAN was established on July 11, 2003 with this core mission in mind. “Since its inception, the federation has prioritized every concern of women entrepreneurs and has consistently worked to safeguard their rights and interests,” she added.
President Gyawali expressed her delight at being able to integrate the women entrepreneurs of Manang into the federation’s network, emphasizing that their inclusion marks a significant step toward collaborative nation-building.
She also shared that the federation is moving forward with plans to establish branches in all 77 districts of Nepal. The newly inaugurated branch in Manang is the 74th, and according to Gyawali, it was established with support from the Chinese Embassy.
The inauguration event was attended by Lokendra Bahadur Ghale, Chairperson of Chame Rural Municipality; Mingmar Doma Lama, Vice-Chairperson; Basanti Pradhan, Third Vice-President of the federation; program coordinator Manoj Timilsina, and other local dignitaries.
Following the ceremony, an 11-member district committee was formed under the leadership of Maya Gurung.
