DHADING, June 4: The adventure sport of canyoning has been launched at the Rani waterfall located at Thankre – 6 in southern Dhading from Saturday. 

The sport is being launched commercially by Nepal Canyoning Association with help of Thankre rural municipality, according to rural municipality's Chairman, Ram Kumar Acharya. 

National Planning Commission Vice Chairman, Dr Pushpa Kandel, launched the adventure sport and said everyone must work for building prosperous Nepal as there were high possibilities of tourism development. 

The water fall is located four kilometers down a track route from Mahadevbenshi section along the Prithvi Highway, said journalist Rameshwor Karki. 

At least 21 persons have been given basic training on rappelling down the waterfall. Association's Founding Chairman, Karna Thapa, said Canyoning Festival will be held at the waterfall on June 9 and 10.(RSS)
