KATHMANDU, Oct 4: The Department of Commerce, Supplies, and Consumer Protection (DOCSCP) has intensified its monitoring efforts, inspecting a total of 1,480 commercial establishments during the first one and a half months of the current fiscal year.

GANDAKI, July 16:  The insufficient supply of timber has resulted in the outflow of millions of rupees to foreign countries in the import of timber, furniture, aluminum and steel, according to available data. KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Officials at the Department of Archeology (DoA) have taken strong exception to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)'s nod to the illegal construction of a commercial complex inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square's protected monument zone and demanded apology from the UN agency. DoA officials said the construction violates the existing building bylaws.
