According to the Registrar at the Nepal Medical Council Dr Krishna Prasad Adhikari, Yadav was arrested as his name matched with a fraud.

Following a letter from the NMC confirming the mistaken identity, the CIB released Yadav on Sunday.

Earlier, the CIB arrested eight people, including Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Sunil Sharma on charge of obtaining fake academic certificates. Sharma has been released after the Kathmandu District Court ordered an investigation, allowing him to be released on his own recognizance.

After Yadav's release, six quack doctors are currently under the custody of CIB for necessary investigation.
