KATHMANDU, March 13: At least 19 students from Central Jail, Jagannathdewal in Sundhara, will participate in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) of 2081.
These students are enrolled at Jagannath Secondary School, located within the prison. According to Central Jail authorities, there is one female candidate and 18 male candidates. This year's SEE is scheduled to begin on March 20.
In last year's SEE, 25 students participated, and all of them passed. Both the students and teachers at this school are inmates.

This year, 522,000 students will participate in the SEE, which will be held at 2,079 centers across the country.
According to the National Examination Board (NEB), Office of the Controller of Examinations, the exams will include 468,000 regular students, 50,000 students for grade improvement (2080 BS), and 4,000 students for grade improvement from previous years (2078-079 BS).
In terms of district-wise participation, Kathmandu has the highest number of SEE candidates, with a total of 39,000 students taking the exam across 36 exam centers in the district. Meanwhile, Manang has the fewest SEE candidates, with only 43 students taking the exam at one designated center.
