KATHMANDU, Dec 16: A cake mixing ceremony was organized recently at Hotel Yak and Yeti to mark the spirit of the upcoming festive season.

The event was elegantly arranged with the guests and diplomats wives as attendees to mix the cake. The executive staffs of the hotel also joined hand in hand with the guests for the cake mixing. The atmosphere was enhanced by the General Manager of the hotel Philippe Belhay as he briefed about the history of cake mixing and mulled wine before starting the mixing.

All guests enthusiastically participated in their apron, gloves, chef hats and followed the steps instructed by the Pastry Chef, Pratap Mohan Dhaubhadel. The mixing was comprised of raisins, black currants, dates, cherries, lemon rind cashew, almond flakes, butter, honey, rum, wine etc.

Hotel Yak & Yeti has been following the cake mixing ritual every year to welcome the culture of every religion in Nepal. The following noon was a day of ecstatic delight. People were happy to meet each other and the whole air crackled in the joy of welcoming the festival. Drinks were being served with light appetizers. The program ended with a buffet lunch where everyone interacted and ate rejuvenating food, the grandeur of the winter morning entering its noon.
