"The ban on the sale of local chicken has been imposed so as to restrict the sale of local chickens brought from neighboring Nawalparasi," Dr Bishnu Kumar Shrestha, head of Department of Livestock Chitwan told.
A joint meeting of poultry entrepreneurs of Chitwan and the representatives of District Administration Office had taken the decision.

KATHMANDU, March 28: Sunrise Bank Limited has opened its 29th branch in Jhumka of Sunsari district.
According to a press release issued by the bank, Balaram Bista, Deputy General Manager of the bank, inaugurated the new branch. Bista said the bank will be providing banking facilities in new areas of investment in the competitive environment, the release stated.
The bank has collected Rs 13.75 billion deposits and invested loans worth Rs 12.15 billion so far. In the first half of the fiscal year 2009/2010, the bank registered Rs 150 million operating profit.
BoK´s new branch at Sankhu
KATHMANDU, March 28: Bank of Kathmandu Ltd has opened a new branch at Sankhu in the north-eastern part of Kathmandu.
With the opening of this branch, the bank now has a total of 33 branches, according to the release issued by the bank on Sunday. Narendra Kumar Basnyat, Chairman of BoK had inaugurated the new branch at Sankhu.
Basnyat said the policy of expanding branches throughout the country, especially in the rural areas, will continue in the days to come. According to Basnyat, the recently introduced Laghu Muddati and Laghu Bachat accounts of the BoK will help those who want to save money in smaller amounts.
