Budget booklets of 13 ministries and Vice President's Office printed, discussion on Appropriation Bill to commence from Tuesday

KATHMANDU, June 10: Following the adjournment of the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting due to the unavailability of the Budget booklets containing information on the funds allocated for ministries, efforts have been made to expedite the printing of this essential document.


The HoR meeting was adjourned for two days starting Sunday after the concerned ministries failed to provide the Budget booklets outlining the funds allocated under the Appropriation Bill 2081 BS.


The Federal Parliament Secretariat declared the adjournment of the HoR session for Sunday and Monday, citing the lack of budgetary documents.

Ekram Giri, spokesperson for the Federal Parliament Secretariat, confirmed that the ministries have now sent copies of the Budget booklets . He announced that by Monday afternoon, the Budget booklets for thirteen ministries and the Vice President's office had been received.


Giri stated, "By Monday afternoon, the Budget booklets from thirteen ministries, the Vice President's Office, and the President's Office had arrived. Others may follow suit by the evening. Consequently, the HoR meeting scheduled for Tuesday will proceed as planned."


According to Giri, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, Ministry of Forest and Environment, Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, Ministry of Health and Population, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, and the Ministry of Urban Development have all sent their budgetary documents.


Additionally, both the President's Office and the Vice President's Office have dispatched their respective budget documents, Giri confirmed. He further mentioned that these documents have been distributed to the Members of Parliament.


In the upcoming HoR meeting on Tuesday, discussions are expected to focus on budget allocations for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, and Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
