KATHMANDU, Sept 30: The bodies of three of the six students from the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Academy who lost their lives in a landslide in Sisneri, Indrasarowar Rural Municipality, Makwanpur, have been brought to Hetauda.
Following the post-mortem examinations at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, the bodies of Anupam Ghalan, Simon Yonjan and Bikash Regmi were airlifted to Hetauda on Monday morning, as reported by Chief District Officer (CDO) Tirtharaj Chiluwal of Makwanpur.
Sisneri road section obstructed
The District Sports Development Committee organized a tribute ceremony in their honor at the ground in Hupra Chaur, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-4. The relatives of the deceased, players, sports enthusiasts, and local residents paid their last respect. CDO Chiluwal mentioned that the bodies have been handed over to the families for final rites.
Among 40 students residing in the hostel and studying at Batsala Secondary School in Tekar, Indrasarowar Rural Municipality-3, who were undergoing football training at the ANFA camp, Ghalan and Yonjan from Hetauda, Regmi from Nijgadh in Bara, Diwas Baniya from Sisneri, Riyans Acharya from Kathmandu, and Aditya Balampaki from Sarlahi tragically lost their lives in a landslide on Saturday.
