KATHMANDU, April 23: According to the Bagmati Province Transport Infrastructure Directorate, Hetauda, the roadway connecting the Sisneri-Dakshinkali-Kathmandu on the Bhimphedi-Kulekhani road section of Makwanpur has been closed to vehicles from Kathmandu to Hetauda since this morning.
As stated by the District Police Office, Makwanpur, the light vehicles service from Tribhuwan Highway to Hetauda-Kathmandu has been brought into operation since this morning, following the disruption of the roadway to Kathmandu via Bhimphedi-Kulekhani. Vehicles like jeeps, cars and motorcycles have been allowed to travel to Kathmandu through the Kanti Highway.
Roadway to Rasuwagadhi blocked by landslides
According to the head of Province Transport Infrastructure Directorate, Dr Shahdev Bhandari, the daily transport service to Kathmandu-Hetauda has been suspended from today till June 9 for repairs and blacktopping of the road from Chainel of Kathmandu to Hebi of Makwanpur on the Sisneri road.
Bhandari also stated that the transport service from Fakhel to Kathmandu was suspended for a month a few weeks ago due to the construction of sewage and blacktopping on the Bhimphedi-Kulekhani road. According to Hari Prasad Upreti, administrative officer at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Development, Bagmati, the department has allocated Rs 340 million for the development and blacktopping of Bhimphedi and Chisapani to Hebi roadway in two stages.
