PARSA, July 9: The Birgunj-Raksaul border check point, which remained closed since last Friday due to obstruction by Indian number plate ambulance drivers and locals of bordering Indian region in the protest of Birgunj customs employees and police, has reopened from Friday night.

The check point has come to resumption after Nepali and Indian authorities reached a consensus in this regard. [break]

The border entry point was obstructed by placing Indian number plate ambulance as a barricade in the Miteri bridge since 7 AM Friday citing that employees and police deputed in Birgunj Customs created unnecessary troubles to Indian number plate ambulance and motorcycles on the way to Birgunj from Raksaul.

The problem got an outlet when it was agreed between the authorities of Nepal and India to allow ambulances and motorcycles coming from Raksaul to Birgunj everyday by registering in the logbook and to not impose any charges to ambulances by municipality and District Development Committee.
