Bipin is safe and will return soon: Foreign Minister Rana

On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked Israel, leading to the death of around 1200 people including 10 Nepali students. About 250 people including Bipin were taken hostage by Hamas.

KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has said that initiatives are being taken for the release of Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who is under the control of the Hamas group.


Speaking at the International Relations Committee of parliament on Monday, Foreign Minister Rana said that she is going to request Qatar again to take initiatives for Bipin's release.

Rana said she had spoken on the phone with the Ambassador of Qatar and had also asked him to create an environment for talks with the Foreign Minister there.


She expressed hope that Bipin would be released. She said, “I hope Bipin is safe. I believe he will be released.”
