BHAKTAPUR, Oct 27: Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) is organizing Bhaktapur International Trade Fair 2016 from December 9 to 14.
The expo, which is being organized to celebrate 50 years of establishment of the BCCI, will be held at the Sallaghari ground.
Organizing a press meet on Wednesday, officials of BCCI said that the expo will help to promote industrial production.
Raj Mrigendra Joshi, BCCI treasurer and convener of the expo organizing committee, said that different associations in Bhaktapur like Bhaktapur Electrical Material Trading Association, Bhaktapur Construction Material Trading Association, Bhaktapur Furniture and Furnishing Trading Association are the co-organizers of the expo.
The expo will showcase traditional handicraft products, homemade products, agricultural products, and different brands of vehicles. The expo will also have stalls for education institutions, IT companies. Similarly, there will be stalls of different Newari food items.
Artistes will perform traditional dances throughout the expo.
Electrical and furnishing products will be the major attractions of the expo, according to the organizers. Traders from countries like India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, China, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the US will participate in the expo.
The expo will have a total of 172 stalls. The organizers are charging entry fee of Rs 35 for students and Rs 50 for general visitors. Children below eight years, senior citizens above 70 and differently-abled people will get free entry into the expo.
The organizers are expecting 90,000 visitors.
