KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The Bhairahawa customs office has collected Rs 690 in revenue in a single day on Sunday. The office, which collects around Rs 300 million in revenue daily on an average, collected more than double that amount on Sunday.
Ram Prasad Regmi, chief customs officer of the office, said that the revenue increased on Sunday due to the import of vehicles. He said that Sunday’s revenue has marked the highest daily collection for the current fiscal year so far.
Bhairahawa Customs Office fails to collect targeted revenue
According to him, there has been an increase in the releasing of petrol vehicles from customs for some time. On Sunday customs clearance was done for 63 units of petrol engine vehicles, 43 electric cars, jeeps and vans, 1,021 units of bikes and scooters and seven units of fuel engine mini buses and microbuses.
