KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Nepali Congress (NC) Youth leader Rajendra Bajgain has announced his candidacy for the post of central member in the party’s upcoming 14th General Convention. The NC’s General Convention is scheduled to be held from December 10 to December 12 in Kathmandu.

Bajgain, who has working experience in the tourism sector for the past 27 years, has decided to move forward under the ‘Politics for Development’ campaign. He had also been a candidate for the same post in the 13th General Convention of the NC. Despite securing a good number of votes, he was not able to make it to the post of the party’s central member.

Stating that internal competition is natural in a democratic party like NC, Bajgain said that he has decided to announce his candidacy for the post of the central member of the party. “There is a need to move forward with our party agendas that can be used for the betterment of people. I have announced my candidacy as it is necessary to clean the party right from its foundation,” he said.

“I feel it necessary to become a central member in order to bring amendments in the party’s statute. The leader of the party also seems to be very weak, which needs to be changed as well,” Bajgain added.
