BAGMATI, July 26: Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama Tamang of Bagmati Province has relieved four ministers from his cabinet.
Those ministers who were relieved from their posts are Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Suraj Chandra Lamichhane, Minister for Culture and Tourism Bimal Thakuri, Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Madhu Kumar Shrestha, and Minister for Youth and Sports Meen Krishna Maharjan.
Bagmati Chief Minister Shakya expands Cabinet
Chief Minister Lama informed Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota of the decision through official correspondence, citing Article 169 (2)(b) of the Constitution of Nepal (2015).
All four ministers, who represented the Nepali Congress (NC) in the provincial government, had submitted their resignations to CM Lama via WhatsApp on Friday.
Following their resignation, the ministers—along with 21 members of the provincial assembly—also registered a no-confidence motion against CM Lama within the NC parliamentary party the same day.
