KATHMANDU, June 9: An average of one billion remittances per month has started coming from the current financial year. In the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2022/23, remittances equal to an average of Rs 1.05 trillion have been received.
According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank on Friday, this amount is 23.4 percent higher than the same period last year. In the same period of the previous year, the remittance inflow increased by 0.5 percent.

In the period of 10 months, the remittance inflow in US dollars increased by 13.4 percent to Rs 7.7 billion. Last year, the influx of remittances had decreased by 1.2 percent.
There has been a significant rise of 51.4 percent in the count of Nepalis obtaining final work permits (both institutional and individual) for foreign employment. In 10 months, 4, 21,279 workers went abroad with new work permits.
The number of Nepalis who received re-entry labor permits for foreign employment has increased by 3.7 percent to 238,976 during the review period. This number increased by 185.5 percent during the same period of the previous year.
