KATHMANDU, Oct 5: The High Commission of Canada in India, in association with Bombardier, is organizing an art competition designed to encourage equal opportunities for girls and women. The entry for the third annual art competition is now open to youth between 10 to 18 years of age from Nepal, India and Bhutan.

The artwork should be based on the theme of the competition, which is ‘Women Hold Up Half The Sky’ and must show the positive aspects of women empowerment in different areas in today’s modern society. [break]

The artwork must be hand drawn and the use of color pencils, ink, paints and crayons is allowed. Participants should send in their entries by November 12.

All participants will get certificates and the artwork that gets the top spot will be featured in the High Commission of Canada’s 2014 calendar. Entries can be submitted via mail or electronically.
