KATHMANDU, Feb 28: Police have not reported any significant physical damage or human casualties so far caused by an earthquake that struck Bhairab Kunda in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk, early Friday morning.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Niranjan Bhattarai of the Sindhupalchowk District Police Office said his team has not received any damage reports yet. "We are continuously monitoring the situation and gathering details, but so far, we have not found any reports of damage," he said.

He added that a prisoner at the Sindhupalchowk jail sustained minor injuries after falling while trying to flee in panic. However, no collapsing structures caused the injury.
Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality Vice-Chair Dichen Sherpa also confirmed that officials have not received any damage reports. "So far, we have not found any signs of significant damage," she said.
The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center reported a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck at 2:51 AM on Friday. The tremor shook Sindhupalchowk, Kathmandu, and nearby districts, as well as some parts of eastern Nepal. The late-night quake woke up many residents, forcing many to rush outdoors in fear.
