KATHMANDU, Oct 9: Around 100,000 people are leaving Kathmandu Valley each day to celebrate Dashain festival. 


According to Rabin Karki, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Division, traffic flow has significantly increased at all four major exit points from the valley in the past few days.

DSP Karki said that in the past three days, around 100,000 travelers left Kathmandu Valley for their home districts. "Compared to Sunday and Tuesday, the number of travelers increased on Monday and Tuesday," he said, noting that approximately 30,000 people have entered the capital each day.


Passengers are traveling to their respective destinations outside the Valley via Araniko highway, Tribhuvan highway, Prithvi highway and the Dakshinkali-Hetauda and the Kanti highways at present.
