KATHMANDU, July 6: An Armed Police Force (APF) Inspector, who was assigned to the security of the private residence of CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, has been found dead.


APF Inspector Umesh Thapa, 42, a permanent resident of Suryavinayak Municipality-9 Gundu in Bhaktapur, was found dead in his own house.

Inspector Thapa was the officer assigned to the security of the private residence of UML Chairman Oli in Balkot.


Thapa was found unconscious at 5:30 AM in his bed on Saturday. He was immediately taken to Bhaktapur Hospital for treatment. He was taken to the hospital at 6:30 AM. Police said that the hospital declared him brought dead.


The Bhaktapur police said that an investigation into Thapa's death is being conducted by the Bhaktapur Police Range. The body of the deceased has been sent to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajganj for postmortem.
