SURKHET, September 4: Alleged rapist Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Karnali Province, Kumar Raj Shahi has accused the female victim of publicizing a two-year-old video after he failed to pay the demanded sum of Rs 50 million. He further claimed that the victim’s husband had collected Rs 4.25 million by selling his name.
Minister Shahi has accused the victim of multiple allegations following the - Minister accused of rape- headline, which surfaced in various papers across the country. He further accused the victim’s husband of taking commissions from various individuals, kidnapping his son from Usha Balbatika Secondary School and many other allegations. An audio clip of Shahi accusing the victim of various allegations has gone viral on social media platforms.

“The victim’s husband demanded that I pay Rs 50 million after I became a minister. A two-year-old video was publicized on the internet after I did not meet his demands,” Shahi says in the audio clip.
Furthermore, Shahi’s press advisor Nandakesh Adhikari accused the victim’s husband of collecting over Rs 25 million over the course of two years by showing the video, before Shahi was appointed a minister. Speaking with Republica, Adhikari said that the victim’s husband had received Rs 2.5 million through a fish farm. He further accused him of collecting over 20 to 30 percent of commission from the Parliamentary Development Fund.
Earlier, a video purportedly of Karnali Province Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Kurmaraj Shahi raping a woman had gone viral on social media platforms. The victim and her husband have lodged a rape complaint against Shahi at the District Police Office, Surkhet.
