KATHMANDU, Sept 25: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has mandated all shops within the metropolis to display the price lists of the items they sell in a manner that is visible to everyone.
Issuing a notice, the KMC has urged both retail and wholesale vendors to comply with this directive.

In addition to this, the KMC has stated that vendors must ensure they do not sell goods at prices exceeding the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) and that only items with a remaining shelf life (non-expiry date) should be sold.
The notice from the KMC also emphasizes the importance of maintaining the quality, purity, and cleanliness of food, beverages, and other items.
The KMC has emphasized strict adherence to these regulations. The Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of the KMC has warned of action in accordance with the prevailing laws if it finds anyone violating the law during inspection. According to the department, it will also take action based on complaints or if grievances arise.
