Nepalis outnumber Americans in Japan

TOKYO, March 25: Japan has become a popular destination for Nepalis. The latest data shows that the number of Nepalis arriving in Japan for study, trade and jobs, has been increasing at a steady rate.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Justice of Japan, there were 54, 775 Nepalis living in Japan until last December.


Among the migrant people currently living in Japan, this is the sixth largest population. Nepali people have climbed to the sixth position, leaving the American people behind.

According to the statistics established by the Japan's Justice Ministry, the Chinese come on the top in number followed by Koreans, Philippinos, Brazilians and Vietnamese, respectively.
