‘Statute even by putting federalism on hold’

BHIMDUTTANAGAR, April 22: Former Prime Minister and senior leader of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed the need of promulgating the new constitution even by keeping the disputes issues including federalism aside.

Leader Deuba also expressed the belief that the new constitution would be promulgated soon as an environment conducive for consensus is created among political parties in recent time.


At a news conference organized here on Wednesday he said, "Consensus has already been forged on the issues including the form of governance and mostly dispute has been surfaced on the issue of federalism."

Stressing the need of promulgating the new constitution even after settling the issue of federalism through commission, the former Prime Minister said, "Solution regarding the federalism can be find out later."

He further said that political parties should not make any delay in constitution writing.

On a different note, leader Deuba said the Pancheshwor project going to be constructed in the far-western region would benefit the far-western folks. RSS
