742 new COVID-19 cases detected through 6,351 PCR tests

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Officials at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Monday confirmed 742 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Officials at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Monday confirmed 742 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).


With 448 males and 294 females diagnosed through 6,351 real time polymerase tests in the past 24 hours, Nepal’s casetally for the disease has reached 254,514.

As many as 96.16 percent of the total confirmed cases – 244,743 – have so far got over the disease including 1,079 recoveries reported on Monday.


Since the first death was reported on May 16, Nepal’s COVID-19 death tally has reached 1,795. Seven more deaths were confirmed in the past 24 hours.
