15-day training for journalists

KATHMANDU, April 16: The Department of Information has started a 15-day in-service capacity building training of working journalists.



Inaugurating the training, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications Dhruba Prasad Sharma said the training would reenergize the participants to deliver qualitative service.[break]



Sharma also pledged to give continuity to the training in the future too.



Director General of Department Laxmi Bilas Koirala said the in-service training was initiated to run training in different issues targeting the journalists.



Chairman of Press Council Nepal Borna Bahadur Karki urged the journalists to distinguish necessary and unnecessary contents before disseminating to the general public.



Former Chairmen of Federation of Nepali Journalists Suresh Acharya and Dharmendra Jha stressed necessity of training to make journalists best suited in the changed context while adding that journalism as a profession was a very challenging job.



A total of 22 journalists from various media houses are participating in the training.
