KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) resumed its service on Thursday after being suspended due to the unrest linked to the Gen Z protests on Monday and Tuesday. Both domestic and international flights have now been restored.
According to TIA authorities, 56 international departures are scheduled for today, alongside 57 arrivals and three chartered flights. Since the resumption of services, the airport has witnessed heavy passenger traffic.

Airlines operating today include Himalaya Airlines, Air China, Qatar Airways, Sichuan Airlines, Air India, Nepal Airlines, Biman Bangladesh, Thai AirAsia, Air Arabia, SpiceJet, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways, among others. By 12:30 PM, five international flights had departed and four had landed.
SriLankan Airlines arrived from Colombo, Thai Airways from Bangkok, and Nepal Airlines from Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Flights resumed yesterday afternoon following a decision by the Airport Security Committee. Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines, carry valid identification, and present their tickets before traveling.
The Airline Operators Association of Nepal also confirmed that member airlines have resumed regular services. Passengers are urged to reach the airport on time to avoid disruptions.
