Kali Prasad Baskota is a renowned singer, musician, composer and lyricist in Nepal. He began taking vocal classes in 1999. His musical career as a lyricist and composer began with the release of the song ‘Chahana Sakiyo’. The release of the song ‘Jaalma,’in the movie ‘Resham Filili’ launched his singing career and remains one of his biggest hits.
He went on to win the heart of people with the songs ‘Laija Re’ and ‘Saili’. Additionally, he contributed musical works in movies such as ‘Malatiko Bhatti’, ‘Resham Filili’, ‘Kabadi Kabadi’, ‘Loot’, ‘Visa Girl’, and ‘Manjari’. Apart from playback singing and music composing, Baskota is a judge on Nepal Idol.

A vegetarian since birth

Belonging to a Brahmin family, Baskota is a vegetarian since birth. Although he is rarely caught cooking in his kitchen, he is fond of testing out his taste buds with vegetarian delicacies. He confessed to having no particular favourite food besides the ones he gets to share with his family.
A football fan
Baskota has been a follower of football since his early childhood. He enjoys playing football as well as watching on TV. He is a fan of Arsenal and Barcelona, though he enjoys watching any football game he can.
Keen on air crash investigation
Baskota is interested in investigations of airplane accidents. He subscribes to the channel ‘Air Crash Investigation,’ which tells the stories of plane crashes and the survivors of them throughout aviation history.
Fond of travelling
An avid traveller, he has visited 50 districts in Nepal, Australia, Hong Kong, and the United States. What he enjoys about travelling is the opportunity to meet people and see new places. Though, with a busy work schedule, he’s found it harder to find time to travel.
A silently active social media user
Though Baskota uses social media to share his thoughts, he avoids using it as a tool to meet new people. So he identifies himself as “silently active social media user.”
