BIRATNAGAR, July 29: Madhesi People’s Rights Forum Nepal (MPRF-N) Chairman Upendra Yadav said on Sunday there is no end of the current political crisis unless the ruling UPCN (Maoist) exits from government.

Talking to the media at the Biratnagar airport today, Yadav said, "Maoists better not think about ending the country’s political deadlock while clinging on to power, at the same time. We will have an outlet (for the existing impasse) only when they quit the government.” [break]

Stating that the country has plunged into economic and political crisis due to Maoists, Yadav said economic crisis has further deepened for want of a full-fledged fiscal budget. “The economic sector has been chaotic in lack of full budget. Maoists should understanding the gravity of the situation,” he said.

He also emphasized on the need of making a package deal on new elections. “New elections are not possible unless there is consensus among political parties. This is just a ploy to keep sticking to power,” he added.

He further said without consent of political parties, it is inappropriate for the president to take any step to end the existing impasse. “Even if the president is the head of state and guardian of the constitution, he does not have executive powers, so it is wrong for him to take any step without consent of the parties,” he elaborated.
