Current statute won’t bail country out of present crisis: Yadav

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Upendra Yadav has called for an amendment to the Constitution stating that the current statute will not bail the country out of the current crisis.


Speaking at an interaction organized by Nepal Reporters Club in the capital on Friday, Yadav clarified that his party joined the government after reaching an understanding with the Nepal Communist Party that the constitution would be amended. “The faster the Constitution is amended, the quicker the country will head toward the path of development,” said Yadav.

Yadav, who is also Deputy Prime Minister and  Minister for Health and Population, stressed on the need to put forward the Constitution amendment bill in the parliament as early as possible.


He also expressed belief that the amendment bill will be registered and passed during the current winter session.
