KATHMANDU, May 17: Anil Mandal scored a match winning half-century to help Capital College & Research Center (CCRC) lift the KIST Bank 6th KCC Running Trophy 2009 on Sunday. Mandal scored 62 off 58 balls as CCRC defeated KCC-Red by eight wickets in the final at the TU Cricket Ground. [break]

Winning the toss, CCRC decided to bowl first. Despite contributions from Mehboob Alam (22), Manoj Baishya (22), Binod Das (17) and Dipen Lamgade (10), no KCC batsmen survived long at the crease. The organizing team could manage 100/8 in the allotted 20 overs.

Vijay Thapa led CCRC bowling with 3/12 while Abhaya Rana claimed two wickets.

In reply, openers Pawan Das (26 off 30 balls) and Mandal paved the way for victory adding 86 in 13 overs.

After their exploits, very little was left for Subash Pradhan and Vijay, both unbeaten on four, to do.

Mandal was awarded man-of -the-match and also player of the series whereas KCC´s Dipendra Chaudhary was adjudged best batsman and Raj Shrestha of CCRC the best bowler.
