KATHMANDU, Dec 29: The third round of New Diamond Cup Open National Women’s Volleyball Tournament will be held from January 8 to 11 at Dhorpatan Sports Club grounds in Kathmandu.
At a press conference on Sunday, the New Diamond Club, the organizer said that six to eight teams are taking part in the tournament. The tournament is to be played over a period of 4 days. The organizers have also raised the prize money for the tournament.

In the tournament to be played under the round-robin and knockout process, the winner is said to receive a cash prize of Rs 4, 01001. The runner up is to receive Rs 3, 00000. Similarly, the third and fourth winners are set to receive Rs 1, 5101 and Rs respectively.
The individual performers in the various positions will each receive seven thousand one hundred and one rupees, whereas the best player of the tournament will receive twenty-one thousand one hundred and one rupees.
It is estimated that the total cost of the tournament will be close to Rs 2.6 million. Member Secretary of Nepal Sports Council, Ramesh Kumar Silwal and National Volleyball Association President Manoranjan Raman Sharma pledged to extend their support to the tournament.
