396 candidates of Rasuwa yet to submit election expenditure

RASUWA, July 14:  Even after so many days since the completion of the first phase of local elections, as many as 396 candidates of Rasuwa are yet to submit the election expenditure.

RASUWA, July 14:  Even after so many days since the completion of the first phase of local elections, as many as 396 candidates of Rasuwa are yet to submit the election expenditure.


As per the election code of conduct, candidates are supposed to provide the details of expenses to the District Election Office (DEO) within one month of the poll results. However, only 120 of them have submitted their expenses till now. There are altogether five local units in the district from which there were 517 aspirants.

According to Nabin Khaling, chief election officer of Rasuwa, if parties or candidates don't provide the details of election expenses or if they are caught making expenses by breaching the election law they will have to pay the expenses by their own or else they will be charged Rs 500,000.


CEO Khaling urged the political parties and candidates to be aware of the fine or compensation that they will be charged if not submitted the details before the deadline.
