KATHMANDU, April 26: Principal of Butwal Kalika Campus Ghanshyam Pathak, who transformed Kalika Secondary School in Rupandehi into a model school, has been honored with the Nagarik Nayak 2082 award.
The award was presented to Pathak by President Ram Chandra Poudel on Saturday during a special ceremony organized to honor individuals with outstanding contributions to society and people.

After the announcement of the award, Nagarik Nayak Pathak shared his experience and provided some suggestions. In a conversation with Guna Raj Luitel, editor-in-chief of Nagarik Daily, Pathak mentioned that all 150 classrooms in his school are fully occupied. “We only take new admissions in grades 4, 5, and 6, while higher grades are attended only by our existing students,” Pathak said.
Pathak mentioned that due to financial constraints he was unable to pursue studies, despite having on interest in pursuing engineering. He said, "I take pride in being a teacher now."
