KMC evacuates 393 people at risk of flood, no human casaulty reported

KMC Mayor Balendra Shah said that these people at risk of flood have been shifted to four schools.

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has evacuated 393 people at risk of flood to safe locations. These people were at risk of flood as they had been residing near the bank of rivers in the metropolis.



KMC Mayor Balendra Shah said that these people at risk of flood have been shifted to four schools. According to him, 70 people have been evacuated to Vishwa Niketan Secondary School, Tripureshwar, 52 people to Guheshwari Secondary School, 251 people belonging to 52 families to Jana Bikas Secondary School Kuleshwar and 20 people to Mahendra Saraswati Basic School at Teku.

The Education Section of KMC has stated that urgent shelter can be managed at 70 schools within the metropolis. KMC is managing food and accommodation to those rescued people. 


KMC has requested one and all to contact at 166001055511, 015901764 and 015901763 in case of any problem.


According to local administrations, no human casaulty has been reported in Kathmandu Valley due to precautionery measures despite heavy rainfall.
