CEAPRED involvement in climate change sector

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: The Centre for Environmental and Agricultural Policy Research, Extension and Development (CEAPRED) organized its 16th annual workshop from December 18-20 in Lalitpur announcing its involvement in climate change sector as well.



Efforts are under way to promote “climate change field schools” at the local level where the communities will find a platform to learn by themselves the correlation between climate and crop productivity.[break]



A total of 150 staffers from different projects of CEAPRED and representatives from donor organizations had participated in the two-day annual meeting.



According to a press statement issued on Thursday, the workshop featured sharing of project information, interaction with development partners and programs to enhance staff capacity.



Representatives from nine ongoing and recently completed projects had made briefing about their progress. Outcome of the workshop will contribute to shaping the future strategies of CEAPRED towards serving the rural poor taking into consideration the reflections and suggestions from the field and the development partners.



The organization, since its inception, has been launching various environmental action programs in partnership with community organizations.



In the past two decades, CEAPRED implemented 70 development projects directly benefiting over 150,000 families in 60 districts of Nepal.
