KATHMANDU, June 12: Cafereena Restaurant at Durbarmarg came alive with the music of Nepal’s premium blues band -- Ashesh and Nekhvam on Friday.

The third series of the Tribute to Rock (T2R) concert kicked off at 7 pm with the band playing melodic blues and classic rock songs.[break]

The band appeared to have mastered their instruments and cast a hypnotic spell on the audience.

The front man of the band Ashesh Dangol (guitar/vocals) along with Suraj Lama on bass guitar and Rajiv Tuladhar on drums catered aptly to the audience mood.

In true rock style, the band performed classic songs like ‘Johnny be good’ by Jimi Hendrix and ‘Cocaine’ by Eric Clapton.

The band’s experience with local and international audience was reflected in the way they played.

For those who were looking forward to having a great Friday night hunching for some good music accompanied by good food; this edition of T2R had it all.

“I really liked the music,” said Bikash Lawati, bassist of a local punk band named Sublime delivery.

A band devoted to playing blues, their performance was fresh.

The band’s current project called ‘Nekhvam Rendezvous’ is promoting young musicians.

The next edition of T2R is set to host ‘Abhaya and the Steam Injuns’ at the Attic Bar and Restaruant, Lazimpat. While the finale of T2R will see Turkish band, ‘Soaked’ perform at 1905 Restaurant, Kantipath.
