With a lot of chills the winter air also brings with it flaky and dry skin. And that is not good, considering that now, love is in the air too! So don’t just shower all your love on your Valentine, keep some for your skin too! We bring to you 3 natural and super easy ways to get super soft skin before that exciting Valentine Date.
Exfoliation treatment at home
Skin experts cannot stop stressing the importance of exfoliating in today’s times, especially due to all the pollution in the air, rash skin exposure to the Sun, and just general ageing. While it is a known fact that our skin skills are shed naturally, the above-mentioned factors slow down or even halt the process altogether. This makes your skin wrinkled, dull and dehydrated. While you could physically exfoliate your skin by dry brushing, it can be quite painful considering the already dry skin brought about by winter. So a smart and sustainable alternative is using AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids) Treatment. While these terms sound super scary, they are actually very gentle and effective if we substitute the chemicals with natural alternatives. Both AHAs and BHAs are hydroxy acids that carefully unfasten the bond between the skin and the dead skin cells, hence exposing fresh and supple skin! And you can make use of the natural AHAs and BHAs easily available at your home to uncover the new you! For instance, you could include sugarcane, milk and citrus fruits as AHAs in your skincare regime and wintergreen leaves, papaya, berries, are excellent sources of Salicylic acids which forms BHA. An important aspect to note here is that since it is a treatment, you need not exfoliate your skin regularly, AHAs can be used to exfoliate every 2 days and BHAs weekly.
Let your skin glow this winter
Have a facial
Before your big V-Day, hit your closest saloon or you could even try a facial at home. What is important is that you get your skin exfoliated, steamed and hydrated. Steaming the face comes with the added benefits that it cleans up your pores, and removes dirt and blackheads from your face. Hydration becomes necessary to patch up the dry skin caused due to the harsh winter air. An added tip would be to add peels of your regular citrus fruits such as oranges, melons, lemons, etc in the water while steaming. Easily available DIY natural masks will also help in keeping your skin nourished hence, soft.
Face massage
It is no secret that massages help in increasing blood circulation which then makes the skin look more lively as well. And massaging your face is something you can do on your own as well as ask somebody else to. Applying pressure points to your facial muscles as well areas surrounding it such as neck and head, help you relax and leave a refreshing feeling, as it tightens your skin and reduces the acne on your face. Therefore, facial massage is highly recommended.
These three must-dos, will ensure soft and radiant skin for your Valentine Date and also make you feel more confident!
