Identifying your skin type

Generally people have four skin types - normal, oily, dry and combination. There is a tendency to mistake the combination skin type for oily skin, but there is a way to tell them apart. To start with, all you have to do is wash your face, and avoid applying any skin product on it. Let it breathe for at least an hour. Once an hour has passed, check your face in the mirror. If your skin has a healthy glow, you have normal skin, which is also referred to as well-balanced skin. If it is greasy and shiny all over, you have oily skin. If your skin appears to be greasy on the T-zone, which includes the forehead, nose and chin, you have combination skin. If it appears dry, rough, tight and dull, and needs moisturising, you have dry skin.
