Lama wins LG golf

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Phintso Ongdi Lama won the title of the LG Golf Tournament on Saturday at the Gokarna Golf Resort, Kathmandu.



Lama scored 36 stable-ford points in the tournament to remain ahead of OCB Singh, who accumulated 35 stable-ford points. Lobsang Tashi won the best gross point in the tournament. [break]



Kyoung Sun Le clinched the ladies´ title with 27 stable-ford points. Hyun Sil Kim was the runner-up in the category with 26 points. LP Gurung claimed the title in the senior category while Sonam Ongdi Lama emerged victorious in the junior class.



Hridesh Singh won the prize for the longest drive while OCB Singh scored most birdies during the one-day tournament.



Rabindra Raj Pandey bagged the award for closest to the pin award while Dr Nirajan Sharma received the best sportsmanship award.



Altogether 91 amateur golfers, including eight ladies and 30 senior golfers, participated in the tournament. Executive Vice-president of LG Electronics MB Shin and Chaudhary Group President Binod Chaudhary handed over awards to the winners. Shin and Chaudhary both hope to expand partnership with golf in the future.
