Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, who is also the chairman of the council, decided to postpone the meeting upon the request of UCPN Maoist Chairman Dahal. “The next meeting will probably will held on Monday morning,” Raghuji Pant, the prime minister´s political advisor, told myrepublica.com. Dahal was also absent during the CC´s meeting last week that named Anup Raj Sharma as the next chief justice.
According to the prime minister´s aide, Dahal had assured that he would attend the CC meeting scheduled for Sunday.
Earlier, the prime minister had told Dahal that he would not postpone Sunday´s meeting even if Dahal did not show up.
The meeting was supposed to recommend names for the vacant posts of chiefs at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Public Service Commission, Election Commission and Office of the Auditor General.
This is the seventh time prime minister Nepal has postponed the CC meeting due to unavailability of Dahal.
