7th Int'l Women Entrepreneurs Business Fair 2024 to be held from March 29

KATHMANDU, March 23: The 7th International Women Entrepreneurs Business Fair 2024 will be held in the capital from March 29.


Organizing a press conference in the capital on Friday, the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs' Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) mentioned that the trade fair is being organized to promote women entrepreneurship in the country.


 FWEAN President Shova Gyawali said the fair will be held at Heritage Garden Sanepa from March 29 to April 2. It is estimated that 50,000 visitors will attend the fair, and business transactions are expected to exceed Rs 50 million.

According to FWEAN, the aim of the fair is to increase recognition and encourage entrepreneurship among successful women entrepreneurs living in different districts and rural areas. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to inaugurate the fair.


President Gyawali said that the International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair will showcase the skills of women entrepreneurs and help them establish their identity in national and international markets.


She said, “This fair has been organized to promote the businesses of women entrepreneurs from the local level to the central level. This fair will contribute to the economic empowerment of women. Small and large entrepreneurs from all over Nepal will participate in the fair.”


According to Darshana Shrestha, the first vice president of FWEAN, there will be a total of 112 stalls in the fair. The fair will provide an opportunity to purchase and observe the best products of women entrepreneurs from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other countries.


The fair will see participation from small and medium-sized women entrepreneurs, businessmen, and women entrepreneurs from all over Nepal. A ramp walk will also be held in the fair featuring clothes produced by women entrepreneurs.


To showcase the importance of handicrafts, all attendees will have the opportunity to directly observe handicraft products. Stalls have also been arranged for new women entrepreneurs and disabled women entrepreneurs at this trade fair.


Certificates of excellence in various disciplines will be awarded as an incentive to participating women entrepreneurs from different districts. This will include awards for the exhibition of manufactured goods, stall decoration, packaging, and labeling, among others.


President Gyawali said that a book containing the stories of the struggles of women entrepreneurs will also be released at the opening ceremony of the fair.
