Court takes statements in Ramhari case

CHITWAN, Nov 24: Chitwan District Court on Monday started collecting statements from witnesses in the murder of businessman Ramhari Shrestha.



The case concerns one of the major human rights violations committed by cadres of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) after the peace process began in November 2006. Kathmandu-based businessman Shrestha was killed in 2008. His widow Ramila filed the murder case.



The court is collecting statements from four witnesses on the defendant´s side and seven witnesses for the plaintiff. The court plans to complete collecting the statement in three days.



The court will then collect further evidence in the case.
