Youth rescued, two girls injured in lightning strike

RAJBIRAJ, July 24: The police have rescued a teenager who was swept away by the Khado river in Saptari.

The police saved 18-year-old Dhuran Sada, son of Sarbatulnath Sada of Tairohata VDC – 3 of the district. Sada was heading home by crossing the Khado river at Basbiti area when he was swept away. 

The teenager was rescued unharmed from the river by the locals and the police, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Dhan Bahadur Karki said.

Meanwhile, two girls were injured in electric shock after a lighting strike at Fulbadiya VDC –2 of Saptari. 

Kalpana Kumari Raya, 11, and Asha Kumari Raya, 7, were injured in the lightning strike accompanied with heavy rainfall.

The two girls were inside their home when the lighting hit a TV antenna spreading electric current and injuring the girls, said District Police Office, Saptari. 

The girls are receiving treatment at the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj. RSS
