Western Nepal in one-room exhibition

It is said that a single photograph can express a thousand emotions which would otherwise be difficult to express in words. ACP Nabaraj Silwal, of Nepal Armed Police Force, decided to visit Bhakundey at the earliest after looking at the pictures of Bhakundey Baral Taal. 

The Baglung Udyog Baninjya Sangh on Saturday had organized a photo exhibition in Baglung. After observing the photographs that presented Western Nepal at the exhibit, ACP Silwal said he had no idea before looking at the photos that Bhakundey was such a beautiful place. 

“I have heard about many popular places in Nepal. Though I have not travelled to the places yet, I grew keen to visit the places after observing their pictures at the exhibition,” said Kamala Thapa, one of the visitors from Galkot Municipality. 

“Photographs from other parts of Nepal like Lumbini and Karnali have also been put on display at the exhibition,” said Arjun Chokhal, co-coordinator of Baglung Fest and Photo exhibition.

Stills at the exhibition include themes like agriculture, tourism, animal husbandry, household production, lifestyle, landscapes of ten local places of Baglung. Photographer Adipta Giri stated that the photographs of Pokhara, Mustang, Parbat, Gulmi, Mgyadi, Rukum, Mugu and Dolpa captured by photo journalist of Dhaulagiri region were put on display. “Participation of youths in such exhibitions becomes crucial as such activities would make them understand the society and lifestyle of Western Nepal,” added Giri. 

Along with Giri, pictures of photojournalists Manjul shakya, Kiran Acharya, Ram Thapa ' abiral' , Prakash Baral and Naresh Kadel, among others, made their way in the exhibition. According to Manjul Shakya, President of Photojournalists’ Association, Baglung, photos of Rara lake-Mugu, Tilcho lake-Manang and photos of Upper Mustang successfully drew the visitors’ attention."The exhibit is expected to inspire people to visit these beautiful places," he added. 

The exhibition that will continue till Sunday is expected to bring about significant contribution toward promotion of tourist spots of Baglung.
