Various student unions text lawmakers to press for withdrawing constitution amendment bill

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Various student unions protesting the constitution amendment proposal today sent texts through mobile phone sets to lawmakers representing Legislature-Parliament in order to press them to withdraw the proposal.

The protesting student unions have termed the proposal against the interests of the country and people.

They adopted this means of protest against the proposal as lawmakers of various political parties and independent lawmakers would have a final say in passing or revoking the proposal, said Secretary of the All Nepal National Free Students Union RC Lamichhane.

He said the protest was launched following the decision of the joint meeting of various student unions aligned with CPN-UML, CPN (ML), Rastriya Janamorcha and Nepal Workers and Peasants Party against the proposal on Wednesday. RSS
