Two teens swept away by Mahakali river while collecting firewood

KANTIPUR, Sept 15: Two teens have been swept away by the Mahakali River in Bhimdatta Municipality-12, Kanchanpur while collecting firewood from the river.

According to Inspector Ishwar Thapa from the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the incident occurred on Saturday.

The victims have been identified as 18-year-old Saurabh Damai and 15-year-old Abi Damai from Bhimdatta-12. Saurabh's body was recovered near the Dodhara-Chandani suspension bridge along the bank of the river.

However, the status of Abi remains unknown. Local residents and security personnel are actively searching for him along the riverbank, though search efforts have been hindered by the strong current caused by continuous rainfall.
