Truck-hit kills one

URLABARi, July 19: A woman here died on the spot when she was hit by a truck early this morning. The deceased has been identified as Jasu Tamang, 37, of Damak-8, Jhapa. 

The fatal accident occurred at around 4.45 am while she was taking a morning walk. 

Bhupesh Rai, 31, of Urlabari-3 has been injured in the accident and is receiving treatment at a local Araniko Hospital. A truck (Ko 1 Kha 3570) bound for Kakarvitta from Dharan hit them near the Mawa Bridge along the border of Morang and Jhapa districts. Police have impounded the vehicle and arrested the driver. RSS
